Pediatric chiropractic care is essential to ensure that your child's nerve system is free of problems so that your child can develop to their full potential. Your child's nerve system is responsible for their proper development and health potential. A nobel prize was awarded for brain research that revealed that 90% of the nutrition and stimulation to the brain comes from normal motion of your child's spine. If problems exist in the spine, they will cause noxious input into the brain and nerve system which leads to health problems.
The birth process is the first major stressful event in your child's life. Then, by the age of three, the average child falls 3-5,000 times! These stressful events can have lasting negative affects for years to come. In fact, due to his uncorrected spinal problems, Dr. Madden himself had advanced arthritis in his spine by the time he was 11 years young!
At Broadway Chiropractic Center, we understand the importance of getting and keeping your child healthy. Pediatric chiropractic care is the best form of wellness chiropractic care. Parental education is the first step in the pediatric chiropractic process. The following are answers to commonly asked questions:
At what age should I get my child's nerve system checked for problems?
Due to the stress to your child during the C-section process and the natural birth through the birth canal, it is recommended that you get your child checked right after birth. It is also recommended to get them checked during important events in your child's life such as: when they start holding their head upright, when they start to sit upright, and when they start to crawl and walk.
What will happen on my child's first visit?
When you bring your child in for the first visit, Dr. Madden will ensure that you have as much information as possible before we even begin. First, we will get a full health history and answer any questions or concerns you may have about your child's health. Then, a thorough examination will be completed and all findings will be discussed.
Does it Hurt?
No. As you might imagine, there are different forms of care for a full grown adult vs. an infant and/or small child. Dr. Madden is able to do most pediatric work with just his fingertips. It is very gentle and safe.
Is it safe?
Yes. In fact, pediatric chiropractic care is one of the safest forms of healthcare. Research shows that it is much safer than the traditional medical care.
What symptoms should I look for that indicates my child already has problems?
Your infant's head is repeatedly tilting/leaning to the same side
Recurrent Ear Infections
Repeated Sore Throats and Colds
