Did you know..........

There are two primary ways to practice Chiropractic.  Reactive or symptom based care and Proactive or corrective and wellness care.  Most people think all chiropractors practice the same style of Reactive or symptom care.  In other words, wait until you are at your worst and suffering from symptoms before you go in for care.  Get a few adjustments until you feel better and then repeat when symptoms show up again in 6 months or a year.  The problem is your symptoms only show up AFTER the disease not before it.  Your spine can break down for YEARS before enough damage is done that you get symptoms.   Symptoms are the last thing to show up and the first thing to go away in the healing process.   When you stop taking care of the spine because it feels better, you never do enough work to correct the problem.  This is the reason some people keep getting the same symptoms year after year and gradually get worse.  There is no difference than waiting for your teeth to hurt before you go see a dentist and then not going again until your teeth hurt.  Corrective and wellness care chiropractors gear their care towards correcting the structural problems and not just temporarily helping the symptom.  Correcting problems that have been there for years takes time.  Just like if you did not exercise for 20 years and wanted to get into shape.  The body takes time to change.  When you put forth the effort you can get a much healthier result!

What is Chiropractic?

According to The Association of Chiropractic Colleges, "Chiropractic is a health care discipline which emphasizes the inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs and surgery. The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (primarily the spine) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health."   Read More

Adjustments

The adjustment is a safe, natural, noninvasive procedure used by the chiropractor to restore and improve health. Learning the art of adjusting is a skill that requires years of study and practice.  Chiropractic doctors are the only health care professionals trained to deliver the chiropractic adjustment.  Spinal adjustments by any other individual or health care professional have been shown to be dangerous and less effective.   Read More

Conditions

Chiropractic has provided help to millions of individuals suffering from back and neck problems.  Chiropractic has also provided relief from many other musculoskeletal complaints ranging from knee and ankle problems to carpal tunnel syndrome and tennis elbow.  In fact, musculoskeletal pain or discomfort in any area of the spine or extremity is a candidate for safe, natural, noninvasive chiropractic care.  If a condition exists which is better suited for treatment by a medical specialist, chiropractor's medical training allows them to identify such conditions and make the appropriate referral. However, most patients suffering from musculoskeletal complaints can and are successfully treated with chiropractic every single day without drugs or surgery.   Read More

Education

The education received by chiropractors is extremely thorough and demanding.  Aspiring doctors of chiropractic receive extensive teaching in the structure and function of the human body, the disease process, and how health is achieved and maintained.  There is an emphasis placed on the management of spinal disorders and their role in the overall health and wellness of the individual.   Read More
